About Bonaire
Thinking about visiting the Caribbean? Ever heard about Bonaire? Maybe you have already been there. A romantic getaway, a scuba dive vacation or maybe just a relaxing well deserved holiday on the beach. Bonaire has it all!
With the perfect climate, sun all year, always a nice breeze and warm water Bonaire has so much to offer.
Bonaire has been widely recognized for many years in the diving community as one of the world's best shore diving destinations. Bonaire's Marine Park offers a total of 86 named dive sites and is home to over 57 species of soft and stony coral and more than 350 recorded fish species.
Bonaire has over 22 beaches. On Bonaire and sister island Klein Bonaire, the sands of some beaches are soft and blindingly white, while others are rougher and darker due to the high content of crushed shells and coral. But that’s a fair trade for having such spectacular reefs right offshore!
In Bonaire there is not only stunning marine life, but also great wildlife! You will see lots of donkeys, flamingos, lizard’s, iguanas and goats. You will love all these friendly inhabitants, but pay attention when driving (especially at night). They can suddenly cross the street! The donkey sanctuary takes care of the abandoned or wounded donkeys and give them a new home within the sanctuary. Worth a visit!
Did you know that Atlantis Kite Beach is a Walhalla for all kitesurfers? All year steady trade winds and pristine warm waters make this one of the best places on earth to kitesurf. There are 2 professional kite schools where you can take lessons. If you are already an experienced kiter, you can just go out on your own. Kite in the blue waters of Bonaire surrounded by turtles and dolphins!
